WHO WE ARE
Our Mission
Miracle House provides temporary housing, meals, and advocacy to caregivers and patients coming to New York City for critical medical treatment.
Our History
Founded in 1990 in response to the AIDS crisis, Miracle House began as a single apartment in midtown Manhattan where caregivers and patients could stay during their loved one’s most vital hour. While the AIDS community was suffering from a pandemic and social stigma, Miracle House remained a place free of judgment, where caregivers of people living with AIDS could stay and support each other.

Our scope has grown to include patients as well - regardless of what illness they suffer from. Our dedication and our foundation remains with those who sacrifice themselves for the well-being of others - the mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, lovers and friends of those in need – in a word, the caregivers.

Our apartments have all the essential elements patients and caregivers require for a home away from home – a private bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a pantry stocked with nutritious food, well-maintained beds, telephones, high-speed Internet access and a common area where patients can bond with one another.
