Miracle House Mission

Miracle House provides housing, meals, and advocacy to caregivers and patients coming to New York City for critical medical treatment. Our services consist of three major components:

Temporary Housing

Miracle House operates five 3-bedroom apartments in a modern high-rise residential building in midtown Manhattan. Families share the common living areas and have their own private bedroom. Each unit is completely furnished and features all the amenities of one’s home including fresh bed linens, high-speed Internet access, and modern appliances.

Meals

Each week, Miracle House invites our clients to join us at our Meals Program. Breakfast is offered 6 days per week and dinner is offered 3 days per week – all free of charge. Meals are hosted by a volunteer at a local diner within walking distance of our apartments. In addition, each unit has a fully equipped kitchen and stocked pantry.

Advocacy

All Miracle House volunteers who interact with clients are trained in advocacy. They can offer suggestions and referrals for other social services.

Miracle House is a proud member of The National Association of Hospital Hospitality Houses, Inc. The NAHHH is a non-profit corporation serving facilities that provide lodging and other supportive services to patients and their families when confronted with medical emergencies. Each facility assures that a homelike environment is provided to persons who must travel to be with a patient or to receive necessary outpatient care.
