Set your alarm clocks!!

Miracle House will be featured on the NBC morning news show, Today in New York. Cat Greenleaf, their human interest reporter, recently spent the day at Miracle House, interviewing guests, volunteer Rachel Wood and our Executive Director, Jenny du Pont. It is scheduled to be aired Thursday, Jan 17th at 5:50am. After that, it can be seen on their website under Cat's Corner at http://www.wnbc.com/tiny/index.html

It was a busy month for Miracle House in December as we did much needed maintenance on three of our apartments. Kitchen and bathroom counters were updated, and bathroom tiles and fixtures were replaced. The renovations were done quickly and with minimal disturbance to our guests.

We had some return families spend the holidays with us visiting their relatives that have been struggling with the long-term effects of AIDS for some years. They wanted me to extend a very special 'Thank You' to all the volunteers that have helped keep Miracle House going all these years. They are still amazed, as they are each year, with Miracle House; the well-appointed apartments, the volunteers, the people they share the space with and just the basic option it allows them to be there for their friends, sons, brothers, etc.

I want to thank Howard Kurz, a member of our Board, for providing Holiday baskets for our guests during the Christmas and New Year's week. It can be very difficult to be away from home during the holidays and undergoing medical treatment can seem all the more alienating during that time. So, it was a really nice surprise to have cheerful baskets filled with all kinds of yummies delivered to their door.
